Actions - Layer Mask
Resources
July 19, 2010
Note: This action is for Photoshop Elements 8 and earlier. Photoshop Elements 9 now contains a layer mask.
When you add an adjustment layer in Photoshop Elements, the adjustment layer comes with an attached layer mask that enables you to selectively hide or show the effects of the adjustment by painting on the mask in black or white. However, Photoshop Elements provides no easy way to add a layer mask to any other layer.
You can use the Layer Mask action to add a layer mask to any layer.

TIP: After the action is completed, you can paint with black on the layer mask to hide the pixels of the attached layer or paint with white to reveal the pixels of the attached layer. View a video to learn how to use the layer mask.

All actions are free for non-commercial use only. No permission is required. Please read the copyright information and Terms of Use before using these actions. This action was created in Photoshop CS2 and tested in Photoshop Elements 8.
