Whether you are a Photoshop Elements newbie or a practiced user, you can always learn something new or find a fresh creative perspective from the many books available. I recommend the following books.

The Photoshop Elements 6 Book for Digital Photographers
Any book co-authored by Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski is a sure winner. Scott Kelby is Editor-in-Chief of Photoshop User magazine and President of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). Matt Kloskowski is the Education and Curriculum Developer for NAPP and editor-in-chief of the Photoshop Elements Techniques newsletter. This book is organized in a logical workflow for digital photographers and presented in an accessible, friendly style. The examples are useful and inviting.
The Photoshop Elements 5 Restoration and Retouching Book
Another extremely useful book from Matt Kloskowski. Learn the most useful techniques for restoring old photos.
Photoshop Elements 6 for Windows: Visual QuickStart Guide
Author: Jeff Carlson. The Visual Quickstart Guides are well-written, task-oriented manuals. You'll refer to this book frequently for that task you've forgotten or want to learn quickly.
Photoshop Elements 6 For Dummies
Authors: Barbara Obermeier, Ted Padova. This book in the Dummies collection provides a basic introduction to Photoshop Elements with tips for more experienced users.
Photoshop Elements 6: The Missing Manual
Author: Barbara Brundage. From the Amazon.com review: "This guide progresses from simple to complex features, but if you're ready for the more sophisticated tools, you can easily jump around to learn specific techniques. As always, author Barbara Brundage lets you know which Elements features work well, which don't, and why -- all with a bit of wit and good humor."
