Previous Step: Make a Starry Glitter Pattern

In Step 1 of this lesson, we made a starry glitter pattern. In Step 2, use the Pattern Stamp tool with the starry glitter pattern to paint a sparkly frame.
Step 2: Paint a Glitter Frame
- From the File menu, select New, then Blank File. Enter the dimensions you want and click OK.
- From the Edit menu, select Fill Layer and fill the background layer with White.
Open the photo you want to frame and copy it to the new file. (The dimensions of the photo should be smaller than the dimensions of the new file.)
- Select the Move tool.
- Drag-and-drop the photo to the new file. The photo is displayed on the layer above the white background layer.
- If needed press Ctrl+T to display the bounding box and resize the photo so that some of the white background shows around the edges.
Select the Pattern Stamp tool and paint a glittery frame:
- In the Layers palette, click the Create new layer icon.
- Select the Pattern Stamp tool.
- On the options bar, click the down arrow to the right of the pattern thumbnail to view the patterns that are currently loaded.
- Select the starry glitter pattern that you made in Step 1.
- On the options bar, select a large soft-edged round brush.
- Paint around the edges of the photo.
- Optionally, use the Custom Shapes tool add a festive red bow. You can find a bow shape in the Objects set of Custom Shapes.
