Photoshop Elements: Quick Dark Edges Vignette

You can use the Correct Camera Distortion Filter to add a quick dark edges effect to your photos. This tip comes from Scott Kelby and the recent Adobe Photoshop CS3 Power Tour and has been adapted for Photoshop Elements. To add the dark edges vignette to your photo:

  1. Open the photo you want to use.
  2. From the Filter menu, select Correct Camera Distortion. The Correct Camera Distortion dialogue is displayed.

  3. Uncheck the Show Grid box.
  4. In the Vignette section, move the Amount slider to the left to darken the edges.
  5. Optionally, move the Midpoint slider to the left to extend the darkened area more.
  6. When you are finished, click OK.
