Photoshop Elements: Change Eye Color
Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 6
January 11, 2008
You can enhance your photo subject's eyes or even change eye color by using a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer in Photoshop Elements.
Note: In this example, we're changing eye color from gray to green, but you can use the same procedure to change the color of any item in your image.

To change eye color:
- On the image layer, use the Selection brush to select the subject's eyes. Making a selection will enable you to adjust only the color of the eyes.
- Create a new Hue/Saturation adjustment layer above the image layer. Notice that the adjustment layer contains a mask filled with black and two white circles where you selected the eyes.
In the Hue/Saturation dialog box, check Colorize. Play with the Hue, Saturation and Lightness sliders until you find a color you like.

If you want to tweak the color more, try different blend modes and opacity settings. For example, a Blend mode of Overlay will tone down the brightness and bring out the contrast in the green eyes.
