About Alibony
I am Karen Brockney, a retired Web communications professional. I design and maintain Alibony. Now that I'm retired, I enjoy playing with Web design, digital photography, and photo editing - and sharing those interests on this Web site. And I've definitely got to update the photo with the new DSLR!
In spite of being a graphics klutz, I fell in love with photo editing when I first used JASC Paint Shop Pro 3 in 1995. I then began using Adobe® Photoshop® 7 in the business world, upgrading with succeeding versions. Now that I'm on a fixed budget, I'm using Adobe® Photoshop® Elements. I recently started using Adobe® Lightroom®, too. I enjoy learning new techniques and I create lessons and videos to help me remember how to use these wonderful tools.
Site Goals
This site has three primary goals:
- Mostly Cheap
Are you on a fixed budget? Then this is the place for you. Alibony is dedicated to finding inexpensive alternatives to expensive programs. Free is even better! However, when an expensive program fits the bill, I'll share that, too.
- Fast
If patience is a problem, don't worry. I have a short attention span, too, so all lessons must be quick and easy to complete.
- Easy
Most tasks in Alibony will take 5-7 steps to complete. If it gets more complicated, it's too confusing.
... so essentially Alibony is the graphics equivalent of fast food! But nutritious...
Getting Help
Do you need help with your photography projects or editing?
Because of the large demand, I no longer respond to specific questions by email, but I do check my Facebook page frequently. If you have a general question or comment that would be of interest to the Alibony community, please visit the Alibony Facebook page.
You can find a whole community of Photoshop Elements users who like to share and help each other, too, at the Elements Village forum. The forum is a great place to share your specific questions.
Also, the Photoshop Elements Techniques newsletter is a good source for lessons in their print magazine and on their web site.
Business
I occasionally receive inquiries about business deals, such as sponsored links or advertising on the site. If you wish to contact me about business, please send mail to karenb at alibony.com.
Ideas/Suggestions
Do you have ideas or suggestions for future lessons? Please share them on the Alibony Facebook page.
