Alibony Web Design and Graphics is designed and maintained by Karen Brockney, a retired Web communications professional. Now that she's retired, she can do whatever she wants — and that includes playing with Web graphics and design, learning digital photography and video, and sharing those interests on this Web site. Consider this site a scrapbook crammed with intriguing ideas, fun facts, and practical tips for design and graphics dabblers.
In spite of being a graphics klutz, Karen fell in love with graphics applications with her first project using JASC Paint Shop Pro 3 in 1995. She then began using Adobe® Photoshop® 7 in the business world, upgrading with succeeding versions. Now that she's on a fixed budget, she's using Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 6. She is still a graphics klutz, however, and creating tips and tutorials helps her remember how to use these wonderful tools.
This site has three primary goals:
Are you on a fixed budget? Then this is the place for you. Alibony is dedicated to finding inexpensive alternatives to expensive programs. Free is even better!
If patience is a problem, don't worry. Karen has a short attention span, too, so all tips and tutorials must be quick and easy to complete.
Most tasks in Alibony will take 5-7 steps to complete. If it gets more complicated, it's too confusing.
... so essentially Alibony is the Web design and graphics equivalent of fast food!
The Alibony Design and Graphics Tips Blog is published several times a week and contains news, tips, tutorials, links to other bloggers, and anything else Karen finds interesting at the moment.
